Wholesale valuations (MMR / vAuto / AccuTrade / Blackbook)
Is it possible to list auction data (mmr, vAuto, etc) and/or accutrade data? I feel this is the biggest mystery when consumers are purchasing cars and look to trade.

If consumers had access to v-auto or manhiem they’d realize we aren’t profiting as much as you think.
And I promise the biggest disconnect is recon. Your trade in that you think “still has tread left”, has a check engine light that “just needs a sensor” and has “a little scratch” where you side swipped a mail box. In reality is gonna cost us 2-3 grand and it’s not gonna bring “mmr” if we send it like that to Mannheim. Oh and the online offer where you press “perfect condition” for every question and you don’t tell them about the accident from the last owner. Isn’t a real offer. But carvana/carmax well pretty much offer mmr on most common late model, low mileage economy cars/suvs in perfect condition with no accidents.

Interesting insight, Jake. Similar to what I said with Karakas below, we want to be very careful about when and how we offer these numbers so that they are taken with the appropriate context. Information is power, and we want to wield it wisely. This is also why we don’t offer invoice pricing / minus holdback or “floor plan assistance” right now - we do not think it is useful enough to offer as a standalone number without any context. This is something that is on the roadmap for a reason - we just want to do it right or not do it at all. I appreciate you chiming in.

I think that is a good idea, however there are some blocks with that. Most of the wholesale eval data is confidential to the specific auction company or market eval tools like vAuto and AccuTrade. I think it is a good idea on the surface but we also should keep in mind that dealers put money into reconditioning the vehicles and other costs associated with running the business etc. At the end of the day dealers still have to make a profit. So I don’t know if it will be a highly effective addition in my opinion. This is my unbiased opinion as an independent dealership.

Hey Karakas - Thanks for your input here. This is exactly why we have not prioritized it yet. In the end we want to provide as much information as possible for those who want to see it, it’s just a question of which information gets prioritized with our limited resources.

Hey CT -
Great idea. This is definitely on our minds - you are not the only one interested in this level of valuation data. I can’t say it’s on the immediate priority list right now, but we’re actively considering how to acquire this data.
