Notifications of price drops on favorite vehicles

It’s difficult to track what’s going on daily with a dozen or more vehicles in a favorites list. It would be nice to get notifications (email, message icon?) and also see these price drops flagged in the favorites list.

Created Configure email alerts on specific saved searches to track your second request. Thanks again!

I see this was added on Feb. 6th. These notifications are turned on in my account but I have not received any emails regarding price drops. I will keep an eye out, perhaps it’s user error.

As an aside, it would be nice to be able to disable email alerts for specific saved searches.

      Hey Heath -

Visor only sends you an email if at least one of your favorites has had a change in price or was sold. Have you seen instances where there has been a change, but you haven’t gotten an email? And, would you prefer that you got an email even if nothing changed?

Thanks for your note about disabling alerts for specific searches. This was on the table for when we introduced email alerts, but we decided against it for the sake of simplicity. Good to know that it is still wanted, though.

      Thanks for your feedback here!

        Hi Cole,

I have yet to receive any price drop emails. I do receive “new listing” emails. Also, the latest prices on a lot of vehicles in my favorites list show as having changed today, when this is not true in reality. Compare price history:

        https://visor.vin/v/5cyn0

        https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/090d1628-74f8-441f-b5ac-7e1c3b73bff2/

        https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/1FTEW1EP4MKE53919

On Visor, the current price of this vehicle was shown on Visor prior to today. Yet, it shows the price changed date as today.

As an aside, your product feels very next-gen. Keep it up.

@Heath Hunter Interesting - thanks for reporting this. I’ll take a look into it and get back to you. It’s possible that we are showing that a change took place “today” when in reality it depends on when the info is picked up from the dealer website that day (or the previous day) - I know for a fact this logic could use some dialing in.

Price history on that listing is getting really squirrely!

🙈 Saw this on the listing you linked yesterday - oof. I can confirm that this inaccuracy is only happens in a minority cases, but I am working through a solution today. Apologies for this nonsense.

@Heath Hunter Following up - I finally found a partial solution to these edge cases. You should see that the price history on the listing you linked looks more sensible now. I know there is a discrepancy between the “Listed X days ago” and the price history in this case. Still working on that part!
