Happy (almost) March! This week is somewhat lighter again than the usual changelog - but trust us, there’s been no slacking in sight.
Starting yesterday, you may have seen a new figure next to pricing. After weighing the pros and cons of showing the “vs similar listings” figure, we decided to swap it out with MSRP. Why remove it, you may ask? We simply had been seeing too many instances of the similar pricing not being quite aligned with the other indicators and visualizations that we show. For the time being, MSRP can be a better indicator when you’re evaluating a new or used vehicle purchase. Plus, you can still use the Leaderboard to compare to other similar listings that are actively on the market.
P.S. click or tap the new figure for a nice surprise :)
Development of the mobile app is coming along at a nice clip, and we hope to get it in front of App Store Review within the next few days 🤞. A special THANK YOU to everyone who has been jumping in on Reddit and contributing crash and bug reports through Testflight. Your support means the world to us.
Here’s what we’ve shipped on the mobile app in just the last few days:
Ability to search a VIN via keyboard
Take a picture of a VIN barcode, text, or even a license plate to get to a listing - now go car spotting!
Transitioned from Apple Maps to Google Maps
Fixed navigation between screens
Added “Exclude Mode”
Resolved a whole handful of crashes and bugs from your reports
Updated the indicator for expanding and minimizing the map view. We think it looks pretty slick.
On certain searches “Trim Version” is now “Cab & Bed Type” - we hope this helps those of you who want to get real specific on the search for your next pickup.
As mentioned above, we’re working to get Visor Mobile in the iOS App Store as soon as possible.
Have you ever been interested in time travel? We probably won’t win a nobel prize for our research, but we think an upcoming feature we’re working on will change the way you look at the market for the car you want. Stay tuned.
