As with most things, hindsight is 20/20 vision. When we started building Visor, we just wanted to throw some code up on the internet and see what happened. As the weeks and months progressed, we kept introducing new features on the site with a carefree spirit. Unfortunately, that spirit led to more and more bug reports over time. It became clear that in order to push Visor into the next phase of development, we needed to write the site properly.

What’s old is new again

If you’re exploring the “new” site and thinking to yourself “well, this feels darn near the same as it did before” - you wouldn’t be wrong! We wanted to rewrite the site as it was, but this time having made much better design and architectural decisions along the way.

Although, we will admit… we couldn’t help ourselves in making a few features significantly better along the way.

A refined search experience

The new search “box” is focused on ergonomics and speed. It is entirely keyboard navigable for you fellow nerds out there, and it puts more of the actions you want to use within reach. Want to get into a saved search? Simply type in it’s name, hit enter, and you’re in.

We think this new experience not only feels better, but performs like a dream.

Love for the listing detail page

We couldn’t help but take the opportunity to give the listing detail page a much needed glow up. We think this new design not only looks stunning, but provides some extra detail that you’ll have to discover with your own searches 😉.

Optimized for the quarter mile and the grand tour

The most important aspects we optimized for with the rewrite were performance and reliability. You should notice that the site not only tears through searches like a Bugatti, but covers distance without a hiccup like a Lucid Air (yeah, that’s right).

Boasting aside, you may notice a few glitches that need to be ironed out over the course of the next couple weeks, so bear with us!
